Fairness Cup

Fairness cup (公道杯, Gōng Dào Bēi), is an essential tool in Chinese tea ceremonies.

It serves to ensure that the tea poured into each participant's cup is of consistent flavor and strength. After brewing, tea is poured from the teapot into the fairness cup, mixing the infusion evenly before serving. This prevents uneven distribution, as the first and last pours from the teapot may differ in flavor intensity.
